Hi there,
I've had 2 patches of hardy geraniums in the garden for a few years now and although I do love them I've finally lost patience with them and dug them out. I'm not sure which variety they were but they are in a border which gets full sun. I'm not sure if this is the reason why but they get quite tall (about 60cm) and then just flop as the flower buds swell. There have always been loads of flowers so it seems happy enough but they look so scruffy when they go over so I've taken them out.
The thing is I absolutely loved them and loved the fact that they covered the ground with fresh deep green foliage from early spring right through till winter. Can anyone recommend another nice variety that will still offer good ground cover but doesn't get so tall and floppy? Or even another ground covering plant entirely that will offer that long season of interest?
