Back in August 2012 I attempted to lift and replant some Eryngium Alpinium Blue Star which had proved to be too tall for their location. Sadly, after being replanted in the front garden, they died off. I bought some new plants and put these into the front garden, though not in the same position as the ones which died off. Now, not only have the ones which appeared to have died off, revived, but also the first planting, which I dug up, from the back garden. I can only conclude that they have all self-seeded. I'm delighted as I love them and now have three times as many plants as anticipated. Very interesting I think as everything I read and researched suggested that one wouldn't be able to translate any variety of Eryngium because of the deep tap roots. So,always worth having a go then!
